Di seguito il messaggio alla Federazione Italiana dello Scautismo del Direttore Regionale WOSM David McKee in merito al terremoto che ha colpito il nord Italia:
“I think that the whole of Europe is aware of the most recent earthquake this morning in northern Italy, near Bologna. Certainly we are aware of the possibility of such happenings but it is always a shock when we see the permanance of our existence threatened in such a way. We understand that local Scouts are already responding to assist – as we would expect good Scouts to do, and we commend them for their action to support the community. Please be assured that Italy and its Scouts are in our thoughts at this time. Kind regards. David”
Di seguito la traduzione: “Penso che tutta l’Europa sia a conoscenza di quanto è successo in Italia questa mattina. Abbiamo imparato che queste cose possono succedere ma è sempre uno shock quando la nostra vita è minacciata. Sappiamo che gli scout locali sono già attivi, come ci si aspetta da un buono scout, e apprezziamo il loro impegno nell’assistere la comunità. L’Italia e gli scout sono nei nostri pensieri sempre”.
